Our approach

Kronos designs and sells a range of portable flapper-peening tools — from manual pneumatic tools to parameter-controlled units with RPM and exposure-time display. This Kronos range is used daily by our own teams on on-wing AOG interventions worldwide, guaranteeing proven field reliability.

AMS 2590 compliance, qualified operators, coverage inspected to SAE J2277. Full AOG kit available (tool + controller + carbide flappers + Almen strips + calibrated gauge) in an airport-compatible case.

Flap peening machines, rotary tools and consumables (both names refer to the same process) available for supply.

Manual pneumatic tool KF-M

For routine workshop or maintenance-base operations. Lightweight (850 g), ergonomic, 6-7 bar compressed-air feed. Carbide flappers 8, 12 or 16 mm.

Parameter controller KF-C

RPM and exposure-time control, real-time display. Traceable batch/part/operator qualification for NADCAP and OEM audits.

Full AOG kit KF-AOG

Aero transport case (10 kg): tool + controller + flappers + Almen kit + calibrated gauge + documentation. Ready to ship as technician baggage.

Flapper qualification bench KF-QB

Fixed bench for periodic operator qualification and flapper calibration. Mandatory in NADCAP shops to maintain qualification.

Are your flapper tools used by your own teams?+

Yes. Our AOG technicians use Kronos KF tools exclusively on their field interventions. Continuous feedback drives product improvement — reliability, ergonomics, maintenance.

What is the lifetime of a carbide flapper?+

Typically 5-50 m² of treated surface depending on material (longer on aluminum, shorter on Inconel). Hardness check at the start/end of each batch. Flapper / part-batch traceability is mandatory under NADCAP.

Can flapper peening be done without a controller?+

Yes for routine work in a qualified shop. For parts under strict OEM qualification (primary aerospace structure), the parameter controller is mandatory for traceability.
