Technical support — Structure Technical Support

Aerospace structure technical office: technical dossiers, stress analyses, Major Repair Data, repair instructions, MRB. Our engineers operate at client sites across France, Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Americas.

Our approach

Our approach

Kronos Engineering's structures engineering office covers the full aerospace design & repair chain: repair technical files (MRB, Major Repair Data), fatigue stress notes, fracture analyses, special process qualifications, and NADCAP / OEM audit support.

Our structures engineers are trained on the SRMs (Structural Repair Manuals) of the main OEMs — Airbus, Boeing, ATR, Dassault, Embraer, Bombardier — and hold expertise on the associated special processes (shot peening, cold working, HFMI, flapper peening). This dual structure + process competence is rare on the market and guarantees realistic, executable technical files.

We operate as one-off support (a specific repair file), as a long-duration assignment (engineer seconded at the client's), or for quality procedure overhauls (PCD — Process Control Documents — drafting or updating).

The Kronos Structure Engineering Office is a rare differentiator for a special-processes provider: structural engineers able to produce stress notes, repair files (Major Repair Data), out-of-SRM repair instructions and MRB files — then execute the qualified process on the part themselves. A single point of contact from calculation to execution, through to authority validation (EASA / FAA): that is what saves weeks on a critical repair file.

Typical missions

Typical missions

Major Repair Data — major repair files

Drafting of complete MRB files: repair definition, static & fatigue stress notes, execution instruction, quality procedure, traceability.

Structure fatigue stress notes

Flight-spectrum analyses (FCG, S-N), post-repair fatigue justification, sizing of doublers and patches.

Seconded structures engineer

Long-duration assignment (3-24 months) at MRO, OEM or subcontractor. Special-process expertise + OEM SRMs.

PCD drafting & updating (Process Control Documents)

Quality procedures for shot peening, cold working, flapper peening, HFMI. Compliance with latest AMS revision and OEM requirements.

NADCAP Surface Enhancement audit support

On-site pre-audit (3-5 days), action plan, support all the way to the actual audit. 100% pass rate since 2020.

Process qualification on client installations

Almen saturation curves, AMS 2431 media qualification, equipment qualification, qualification report drafting.

Post-event fatigue & fracture expertise

Post-impact, post-crack, post-FOD analysis. Compensating process recommendation and return-to-service file.

Why Kronos

Why Kronos

Dual structure + special-process expertise. Our engineers master both airframe structural mechanics and mechanical processes (peening, cold working, HFMI). This rare combination produces realistic, executable technical files.

OEM-agnostic approach. We work equally on Airbus, Boeing, ATR, Dassault, Embraer SRMs. Our engineers are not tied to any single OEM.

Execution integration. Unlike a purely "paper" engineering office, we also execute — flapper peening, cold working, manual shot peening. This execution capability validates our engineering.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Are you a DOA (Design Organisation Approval)?+
Not directly. We operate as an engineering provider under our clients' DOAs (OEMs, certified MROs). Our documentation meets DOA requirements for integration into certified files.
Which SRMs do you work on?+
Airbus (A318 through A380, A350, A220), Boeing (737, 747, 767, 777, 787), ATR 42/72, Dassault (Falcon 2000/7X/8X series, Rafale under clearance), Embraer (E-Jets, ERJ), Bombardier (CRJ, Global, Challenger), Leonardo Helicopters, Airbus Helicopters.
Do you perform post-incident / post-accident expertise?+
Yes. Post-event fatigue analysis, metallurgical fracture analysis (with accredited laboratory partners), compensating-process recommendations, return-to-service file.
Can the Structure Engineering Office handle an out-of-SRM repair?+
Yes — that is its core mission: when damage falls outside the Structural Repair Manual, our engineering office produces the stress note, the repair instruction and the justification file, then our teams execute the qualified special process (cold working, peening, flapper) on the part. Support through to EASA / FAA or OEM design-office validation.
Do you interface with the manufacturer's DOA?+
Yes. We prepare files directly usable by the manufacturer's DOA (Design Organisation Approval) or a third-party DOA office: calculation assumptions, fatigue and static justification, execution instructions and process traceability. This smooth interface significantly reduces back-and-forth.
