Weld-Hit AB is a Swedish family-owned company, founded in 2017 and based in Rottne, specialising in HFMI (High Frequency Mechanical Impact), the high-frequency mechanical impact treatment that improves the fatigue strength of welded structures. According to the information published by the manufacturer, its equipment is pneumatic: it runs on compressed air (2 to 6 bar) and delivers around 100 impacts per second to the weld toe. The offer takes the form of a portable HFMI kit in a carrying case — a hammer with recoil damping, an air treatment unit for lubrication and intensity adjustment, impact pins in several radii and gauges to check treatment depth. The manufacturer highlights wind energy, offshore, bridges, mining equipment, steel construction and interrun peening for weld repairs.
Kronos Engineering, based in Bordeaux, applies HFMI every day and works on the same scope as an independent process expert. We do not distribute Weld-Hit equipment and have no commercial relationship with the manufacturer: our business is delivering the treatment on your welds, in the workshop or on site, inspecting it, documenting it and training your operators, within the framework of the IIW 2016 recommendations and your project's standards. We work directly or as a subcontractor, in more than 50 countries, and every quotation request is answered within 12 working hours.
