Spain is Europe's fourth aerospace nation: the Madrid–Getafe–Illescas cluster (structures and composite aerostructures, military transport aircraft), the Seville cluster (A400M final assembly line, aerostructures), the Basque Country and Navarre (engine makers, turbine blades and disks), Valladolid and Albacete (tier-1 and tier-2 subcontracting).

Kronos Engineering serves Spain from Bordeaux — under 4 hours by road to the border, under a day to the Madrid and Seville clusters. We operate directly for industrial customers and airlines, and as a subcontractor or embedded on-site team for prime contractors and approved organisations, within the NADCAP Surface Enhancement, EN 9100 / AS9100 and PART-145 frameworks.

Industrial landscape

Aerostructures and assembly. Getafe and Illescas (metallic and composite structures, military transport aircraft), Seville and Puerto Real (A400M final assembly line, fuselage sections), Cadiz.

Engine makers and rotating parts. Zamudio and Ajalvir (blades, disks, turbine casings), plus a dense Basque and Navarrese subcontracting base working titanium and superalloy critical parts.

Aerostructures — Madrid / Getafe / Illescas

AMS 2430 shot peening and BACC 5060 cold working on primary structures and attachment fittings, in the customer's workshop or as an embedded line team.

Seville — final assembly and aerostructures

AMS 2590 flapper peening and precision boring on hard-to-reach areas, hole rework and repairs on the assembly line.

Engine rotating parts — Basque Country

Shot peening of disks, blades and casings in titanium and superalloys, Almen saturation curves and full process qualification file.

Rail — bogies, axles, welded structures

Shot peening of springs and axles, HFMI on frame welds to IIW 2016 and EN 1993-1-9.

Wind and energy

HFMI on tower, flange and anchoring welds; needle peening on thick weld beads, in workshop or on site.

Training and audit preparation

Shot peening and flapper peening operator training in Spanish, on your site, plus NADCAP audit preparation (documentation, records, process review).

FTI cold expansion tooling supply

Genuine FTI mandrels, split sleeves, gauges and puller units, with process qualification and operator training.

Frequently asked questions

Is Kronos Engineering NADCAP-certified in Spain?+

Kronos Engineering does not itself hold a NADCAP, EN 9100 or PART-145 approval. We perform the processes within those frameworks: directly for industrial customers, or as a subcontractor and embedded on-site team for prime contractors and approved organisations, under their quality system and approval. We also prepare organisations for their own NADCAP audit.

What is your response time in Spain from Bordeaux?+

Qualified technician and tooling on site within 24 hours in Madrid, Seville, Bilbao, Zaragoza and Valencia — by road, with no customs formalities since we stay inside the European Union. For an AOG emergency, the 24/7 line is answered in under 2 hours.

Do you work in Spanish?+

Yes. Fieldwork, process documentation, inspection reports and operator training are all available in Spanish. Training can take place at your site in Spain or in Bordeaux.

Can you supply FTI cold expansion tooling in Spain?+

Yes. Kronos Engineering is an official FTI (Fatigue Technology) partner and supplies genuine tooling — mandrels, split sleeves, gauges, puller units — together with BACC 5060 process qualification and operator training. We also master the split-mandrel process for an objective technology choice.

Do you work on Spanish defence programmes?+

We operate on scopes subject to authorisation and confidentiality. Defence and space missions are described generically only, and under written agreement from the prime contractor. Contact us to assess your requirement under NDA.
